guys and gals i would like to say thanks for being part of my life. we had a great run. over the last couple of years i have been stepping back and looking at my life. i would not change it a bit. i enjoyed it. i met some of the best damn people and have made the greatest friends anyone could ever ask for.
i realized that over the years i only had a few pictures of me and my family. they were always on a stage or in a tank and we were in german uniforms. (nothing wrong with that) but thats all i got. i need me time now. i have to prove to myself that i am above my obsession.
games will go on. i am hoping that all the fields involved will carry on and that all the players maintain our unit integrity and remember who stuck with us and who is truely for the players. all fields that are on the tour this year have my best wishes and i hope you players continue to show your support proudly.
i have stepped down as german commander at ok dday as well. not because of any reason other than my own. i am proud to say that smakman and kansas chaos are both welcome at dday 2009. i simply have to find myself again.
i have always been for the players and i always will. one thing i can say is we woodland warriors never bent to the will of anyone. i would like to give special thanks to 2 companies that have been with me since day one. chris at flurry industries and nathan at major paintball. these guys are for the players.
also dtown brown for making our history changing shinanagins available on vidio for all to see. my thanks to you.
also last but not least...thanks to all my friends that are teams and players in the series. with out you guys i dont know what i would do.
we will finish this season. please play at the fields that have helped us.
raise a glass. toast a toast and remember to teach the new players the woodland warrior way. "with honor". to quote a woodland warrior "we run with what we brung"

Welcome to semi-civi life Bill, there's a beer or two (or 6 or 10) waiting for you if you ever get this far west. There aren't too many things I miss in the mid-west since moving, except paintball at your place and Marks. Both of you and the players that support your fields are some of the greatest folks I've met. I'm glad to see you step down and take some well deserved time off. You're a great leader, adversary and friend... btw, thx for smoothing out the OK/DD thing too.
It's not a question of 'if ' it will happen, just a matter of 'when'... |

Damn straight Bill, we run what we brung,we never back down and we never ask no quarter. We are The Woodland Warriors and nobody can every take that away from us !!!! Nor can they take away all of the great memories and friendships that were created all because of the dedication and sacrifices you made over the years only to come full circle. What you have done will never be forgotten and the memories will live on by more than you can fathom.
Words cannot express my gratitude and my thanks for making paintball such a big part of my life. This is truly a sad day in my life to read your words and know that the paintball community is losing a piece of its heart and soul. The spirit of the Woodland Warriors and this game game will live on not only through me but through so many others that share the pride, honor and title of being one of us.
A toast to you my WW brother.
Semper FI my friend.

Bill,
Thank you for enriching our lives over so many years. You’ve left a long lasting positive mark on paintball that is difficult to quantify but all of us certainly recognize your contribution. It will be impossible to replace the dedication and creativity you bring to the paintball community. The bar has been set for those wishing to build from your legacy.
Good luck facing the new road ahead. If you are able to channel a fraction of your paintball passion and talent into future pursuits, I have no doubt your success will continue.

Bill, I wish you well. You know that you can always drop in and just sling some paint with no responsibility at Smak Zone if you ever get the urge. If it wasn't for coming to your game, "Counter Strike", over 9 years ago, and having such a great time, I would never have begun hosting my own events. The Native American Souix tribe used to have a saying. "Nothing lasts forever but the earth and sky." I know I won't be in the game forever either. Lives and circumstances change. I think that you will always be able lay claim to the paintball chapter of your life as being a great success though. Good luck.

WoW! As someone that has known you for close to 40 years, I know that you deserve this if anyone has ever deserved (or needed) a break or redirection. You know that I myself been where you are now. I sincerely hope that you enjoy every minute of everyday. Know that I am pulling for you and here if you need me. I am also going to say that anyone that knows you wants to say this, "I love ya man"! That being said you have been here for all of us. Now it is our turn. I wish you the best. Your presence will be missed!! There won't be a game that we won't be thinking of you! Thanks for your friendship through the years. Keep in touch.
